Removal of Intergaze from VIP

0. Proposer Info

1. TL;DR

This proposal seeks to formally delist Intergaze from Initia’s VIP program and transition toward leaner operations with deeper and more strategic integration across Initia appchains.

2. Background

2.1 About the Project

  • Protocol Name: Intergaze

  • Protocol Blurb: The Launchpad and Marketplace for Interwoven NFTs.

  • Protocol Type: NFT / Marketplace

3. Rationale & Impact

Background

Intergaze launched as a cultural hub for Initia, connecting appchains, creators, and communities through curated NFT mints and integrated trading. Over time, it has become one of the most widely used appchains on Initia, with:

  • 19,456 wallets interacting with the platform

  • 19 curated collections minted435k+ INIT in total trading volume

Despite these successes, maintaining VIP compatibility is no longer a priority for the platform as we seek to move from mints each epoch to more selective value additive mints.

Intergaze will be available for use by appchains who would like to introduce collections for commemoration, POAPs, in-app utility, and more.

Additionally, if members of the community would like to launch collections and curated mints on Intergaze, we are here to support.

However, our focus will no longer be having community mints each epoch in line with VIP and therefore seek to delist Intergaze.

Why Are You Delisting Intergaze?

  • Strategic Shift: Intergaze’s primary focus will be strategic mints with Initia and appchains rather than community mints.

  • Operational Efficiency: The VIP program requires continuous overhead and mints every epoch.

  • Collaborations: Intergaze has already delivered successful joint campaigns with projects like @civitiaorg and @embrdotfun, and will prioritize further collaborations and ecosystem activations.

VIP Score and Rewards

Unvested VIP Rewards will not be lost. A step-by-step guide will be published showing users how to “zap” unvested rewards — pairing esINIT with USDC to transform into a staked position on Initia which earns staking rewards.

4. What’s Next?

Intergaze will remain fully operational and continue as Initia’s NFT Hub. We are currently focused on upcoming launches and upgrades related to Initia’s other appchains.

Creators can still apply for curated mints (application form), and we will continue to feature community mints—moving away from fixed 2-week intervals to on-demand launches.

Upcoming integrations and campaigns include:

  • Transferable NFTs from other Appchains on Initia

  • Civitia NFT Trading

  • A few top secret Initia L1 POAPs

  • An undisclosed treasury strategy

Initia will also support Intergaze with curation, onboarding, and marketing campaigns as part of a tighter collaboration between Intergaze, Initia, and appchains.

I’ll admit, this proposal to delist Intergaze from the VIP program is surprising. While I understand the strategic rationale—pivoting for operational efficiency and focusing on more selective, value-additive mints is a valid long-term strategy for any project’s survival —I am still disappointed to see this change. I’m especially sad to see the departure of the regular community mints, which the proposal states will no longer be a focus.

As a long-time supporter of the @Initia_Foundation since the testnet last spring, I’ve been fortunate to be an active participant across the ecosystem. The initial AIRDROP and a significant esINIT drop from STAGE 1 have enabled me to engage deeply as Initia has grown over the past few months.

However, this leads to a broader point: the continuous need to spend on specific dapps to maintain VIP status can be both frustrating and financially draining. While it rewards dedicated users, it can also create a significant barrier to entry for newcomers, potentially hindering the overall growth of our ecosystem.

Intergaze provided a fantastic and relatively accessible mechanic for boosting engagement and earning VIP points. Its departure from the program feels like a loss for users who valued its role, and I can’t help but wonder if a less drastic solution than a full delisting might have been possible.

That said, I respect the team’s decision. I understand that in the long term, this pivot allows Intergaze to pursue a new strategic direction. I will continue to actively explore the ecosystem, hoping to find other innovative and, importantly, accessible avenues that offer a meaningful impact for those of us committed to holding a long-term stake in Initia’s future.

I welcome any comments that might help me better understand the virtues of this proposal or highlight other impactful opportunities I may be overlooking. My current DeFi strategy in the Cosmos Ecosystem primarily revolves around ECHELON and @Civitia for inflows and outflows, but I am always eager to learn about other “wheelhouses” from fellow community members.

Thanks for reading.
