2M voting power has been added to the VIP Gauge Vote by the Initia Foundation to each VIP‑whitelisted rollup in stage 1.
These Foundation gauge votes are a temporary boost for Initia’s earliest Interwoven Rollups; they will remain for now and be tapered at an appropriate time, with clear advance notice before any adjustment.
Why the Foundation is adding 2M Voting Power to Each Whitelisted Rollup
Balanced incentives from Day One
Early VIP rewards can skew toward the first rollup to gain traction. Equal gauge votes dampen that effect, giving newer teams a fair shot while the economy is young.
Aligning with Initia’s Earliest Partners
Rollups that have been building with Initia since the testnet era and carried that commitment into mainnet deserve initial support as the economy gains traction.
Flexibility for Future Stages
These gauge votes are not permanent. The Foundation will review network usage and community feedback each stage and adjust the Foundation’s position as needed, publishing a separate post before any change in future stages.
What Happens Next
Stage voting mechanics: Voting will proceed with the Initia Foundation voting with 2M gauge votes per VIP-whitelisted rollup for future stages until further notice.
Monitoring: Metrics dashboards maintained by both the Foundation and the community will monitor how equalized gauge votes affect onchain metrics.
Feedback loop: Builders and token‑holders are encouraged to share observations in the Forum so the Foundation can fine‑tune for future stages.
Evaluation: The Initia Foundation will continually evaluate the existence and size of these initial votes, reducing or removing votes with clear advanced notification when appropriate.
UPDATE: The Initia Foundation will start a gradual reduction in the direct participation of the VIP gauges votes.
Starting from gauge vote 5, the Foundation will reduce its votes per whitelisted L2 by 12.5% (2M votes down to 1.75M) in order to increase the voting power efficiency of EL staked assets in the VIP gauge votes.
Excellent work
I would like to propose an additional recommendation for the Foundation team’s consideration: evaluating the allocation balance across each app to ensure it is aligned with the app’s actual contribution and engagement.
This assessment could take into account key indicators such as:
The ability to attract and retain users
In-app campaigns designed to drive user activity
Responsiveness and user support through social channels such as Discord
UPDATE: In line with the Foundation voting reduction plans outlined in our previous post, the Foundation will reduce its votes per whitelisted L2 by 250,000 votes (from 1.75M down to 1.5M) starting from the gauge vote for Stage 6.
Great move! Allocating 2M votes per whitelisted rollup levels the playing field and supports early builders fairly. Looking forward to how this impacts the ecosystem growth in Stage 1
Love the transparency and the commitment to review and taper based on data. Early alignment builds long-term trust.
UPDATE: In line with the Foundation voting reduction plans outlined in our previous post, the Foundation will reduce its votes per whitelisted L2 by 250,000 votes (from 1.5M down to 1.25M) starting from the gauge vote for Stage 7.
Note that BFB is excluded from receiving Foundation votes as outlined in the post above.
UPDATE: In line with the Foundation voting reduction plans outlined in our previous post, the Foundation will reduce its votes per whitelisted L2 by 250,000 votes (from 1.25M down to 1M) starting from the gauge vote for Stage 8.

UPDATE: In line with the Foundation voting reduction plans outlined in our previous post, the Foundation will reduce its votes per whitelisted L2 by 250,000 votes (from 500,000 down to 250,000) starting from the gauge vote for Stage 11.
UPDATE: In line with the Foundation voting reduction plans outlined in our previous post, the Foundation has reduced its votes per whitelisted L2 by 250,000 votes (from 250,000 down to 0) starting from the gauge vote for Stage 12.
This marks the conclusion of the Initia Foundation’s vote allocation used to bootstrap the VIP Gauge.
