Proposed Update
Enable linear vesting of remaining esINIT positions for VIP whitelisted L2s that are delisted or shut down.
Motivation
When a VIP L2 is delisted, operator scoring stops, preventing users from vesting remaining esINIT. Users must currently forfeit rewards or provide additional capital to LP on Initia L1. This proposal removes that burden while preserving incentives during active periods.
Current State
- esINIT vesting requires epoch-based L2 operator scoring
- Delisted or shut-down L2s no longer submit scores
- Remaining esINIT cannot vest and must be forfeited or zapped into the L1 DEX
Proposed Change
- For delisted or shut-down VIP L2s, remaining esINIT vests linearly over remaining epochs, independent of scoring
- Example: 12 epochs remaining → 1/12 claimable per epoch
- Missed rewards from unmet scoring while the L2 was active remain forfeited
Scope
- Applies only to delisted or shut-down VIP L2s
- No changes to active chains
- No retroactive reward restoration
Implementation
If passed, the Initia team intends to implement this update to the VIP program in the coming weeks.
