1. TL;DR

This proposal requests the whitelisting of MilkyWay to Initia’s VIP (Vested Interest Program).

2. Background

2-1 About the Project

  • Protocol Name : MilkyWay
  • Protocol Blurb: MilkyWay is the first and largest modular liquid staking provider. Start with One Stake. Make Infinite Impact
  • Protocol Type : Liquid Staking

  • Audits : https://docs.milkyway.zone/security/audits

3. Rationale & Impact

  • Motivation and benefit to the Interwoven Economy :
  • MilkyWay is the LST layer for Initia. Users can liquid stake their INIT with us, helping secure the L1 while staying liquid, earning staking rewards, and generating additional DeFi yield on top. It lets them do more with their assets across the Interwoven Economy.
  • milkINIT will be integrated across all major DeFi primitives including DEXs, lending markets, and perpetuals, making it a core building block of Initia DeFi. This bootstraps liquidity, drives user activity, and helps grow the ecosystem from the ground up.
  • Being whitelisted to VIP takes this to the next level. It enables higher rewards for users, deeper liquidity for milkINIT, and closer alignment with Initia’s long-term vision. We’re already building infrastructure that powers the ecosystem, and VIP support helps us scale that impact.
  • VIP Scoring Criteria (Details)
  • We’re allocating VIP scores based on user actions that actively support milkINIT adoption and DeFi activity within the Initia ecosystem. Initially users can earn scores through both holding and LPing milkINIT simultaneously.

Scoring Criteria:

  1. Holding milkINIT
  • Applies to users holding milkINIT either on the MilkyWay interwoven rollup or Initia L1.
→ Earn 1 score per milkINIT per day

Formula:
Holding Score = milkINIT_balance × days_held

Example Calculation:

  • If a user holds 100 milkINIT for a day, they earn:
    • Holding: 100 × 1 = 100 score
Total per day = 100 VIP score

Scores are calculated daily and snapshots are taken on random times.

VIP rewards will be distributed proportionally based on these scores.

4. Proposal Details

Field Value Description
Operator Address init1sf7cyfqyw2dsyhh2sgp0jjr3tjr5q4jfmsgex9 The address eligible to claim a portion of the VIP rewards allocated to the rollup team as commission. This address does not need to be a system key (like admin or bridge executor).
Bridge ID 13 An identifier automatically generated during the setup of the bridge between the Rollup and Initia.
Bridge Address init1wul4rtjagr0cnrqey4ewl98j3v2uthapeh6q0vfns35d35l8qamsfc9gxu The L1 address where tokens are locked when bridging from L1 to L2. This address is auto-generated during bridge setup.
Scoring Contract Address init1mf6ptkssddfmxvhdx0ech0k03ktp6kf9yk59renau2gvht3nq2gqlyqylw The contract deployed on the rollup that assigns VIP scores to users. These scores are snapshotted on L1 and used to build a Merkle tree for VIP reward distribution.
Operator Commission Max Rate 0.2 The maximum commission rate the rollup can configure.
Operator Commission Max Change 0.2 The maximum allowed change in the commission rate per update. For example, if OCR is 0.3 and OCMC is 0.2, OCR can only be adjusted between 0.1 and 0.5.
Operator Commission Rate 0.1 The actual commission rate. If 100 INIT is distributed and OCR is 0.2, the rollup team receives 20 INIT.
VM MiniWasm The VM type of the rollup is using.

MilkyWay VIP Scoring: Stage 4 Update

As we enter Stage 4 of VIP, MilkyWay’s scoring model is getting a small but meaningful update to better align with how milkINIT is being used across the ecosystem, particularly in DeFi.

The idea is to encourage real usage and help mature the VIP ecosystem by rewarding both holders and active participants.

Updated Scoring Breakdown

Holding milkINIT → 1 score per milkINIT per day

Supplying on Echelon → 1.2 score per milkINIT per day

That’s it. Everything else stays the same. Just a better way to score for actually putting your milkINIT to use.

I had been looking forward to utilizing my MilkINIT on inertia.
Would be nice to see this integration happen soon.

question: If i where to liquid stake my INIT for MilkINIT and then bridge it over to Echelon and supply does this mean i get 2.2 score per MilkINIT supplied per day or just 1.2 score

Thank you MilkMan! This looks like a promising colab.

MilkyWay’s VIP update has been approved by The VIP Committee.

question: If i where to liquid stake my INIT for MilkINIT and then bridge it over to Echelon and supply does this mean i get 2.2 score per MilkINIT supplied per day or just 1.2 score

Hi there, a better way to understand this would be to break it between Base and Bonus score.

Base being 1 score per milkINIT per day, which you get for simply holding milkINIT either on MilkyWay Rollup or Initia L1.

the extra 0.2 score per milkINIT/Day is the bonus score for putting your milkINIT to use on Echelon.

So to answer your question, no you dont get 2.2 score, you get 1.2 milkINIT/Day for using it on Echelon and 1 score milkINIT/Day for holding it.

I had been looking forward to utilizing my MilkINIT on inertia.

We have been working with Inertia on the integration, hopefully something in the upcoming weeks.
