Like many people in ecosystem who have been invested in the Initia project since the beginning, starting with its test net launch in May 2024, I’ve been present and watched many scams and fake accounts pop up through Twitter.
While I didn’t pay them much mind our minted Twitter accounts were one of the metrics used for Initia’s AirDrop coming up on a year ago next month in APRIL.
A cosmos user I was naïve for many years, believing that the unique blockchain structure of Cosmos’ sub layered coins made them immune to Wallet hacks… I was wrong. Last year my main Wallet was hit incredibly hard with almost every specific token and Coin native to cosmos being drained and UNSTAKED… a new hack at the time it is now something that every Cosmos user (that remains) watches out for.
But it’s also something that pushed me headfirst into Initia’s VIP concept… enshrined liquidity.
Anyone that has aggregated their assets or even tried to pay crypto tax can attest to the fact that unless an aggregator is specifically built for that chain, it is almost impossible for a one stop shop, unique tool that will encompass all assets and their native liquidity pools unless proprietarily created by that ecosystem or the development team of that chain.
At the time of my wallet drain I lost five figures in PROOF OF STEKE assets. It was devastating.
BUT MY LIQUIDITY I HAD NOTICED WAS UNTOUCHED.
THIS LED ME TO DOUBLE DOWN ON INITIA’s NEW YIELD BEARING PARADIGM.
I have felt very safe interfacing only with the interwoven economy and ecosystem (Osmosis DEX to bridge in from coinbase & fiat) despite market turmoil.
As of late, anything else that really delves into Blockchain technology I keep an eye on but I’m not as invested as I was even a year ago.
I don’t pay the extra amount to Discord to have access to every channel of every Blockchain in all the ecosystems nor do I frantically rush to test out devnets or test nets…
As such having that little blue checker next to my Twitter handle, isn’t that super important anymore so I no longer pay for a subscription.
While by design not paying for a Twitter subscription, surprisingly takes away a many SAFETY tools, as well as taking away privileges.
wHERE normally in the past with a paid subscription Twitter would mark things as spam or a scam. THEY WOULD HIDE THE POST OR RESPONSE WHERE IT WAS BARELY IF NOT NOTIFIED ON THE USER SIDE AT ALL!
They now sit side by side within thread, feeds from legitimate roll app content from the development team..
ECHELON
INITIA FOUNDATION
CIVITIA
AND THESE ARE SCAM POSTS THAT HAVE SLIPPED THROUGH THE CRACKS. THEIR TIMESTAMP HAS THEM SITTING THERE FOR SOMETIMES ALMOST A DAY WITHOUT BEING TAKEN DOWN OR FLAGGED.
Just an hour ago while catching up on direct communication from what I thought was a developers on Initia’s own page, I clicked on a scam account embedded within the post thread from the developers.
After clicking it which I thought was a participation bounty, I thought it odd what it was asking me to do…which was bridge over Ethereum
Within seconds, I knew what it was, and I just immediately had to wipe my cookies and disconnect permissions to every single site in both my Keplr and Leap Wallets.
Again, while the very concept of our ecosystem still keeps LIQUIDITY AND THERE BY “US” PROTECTED, this is a gigantic pain and I don’t know if on the development site of the role apps whoever is marketing is keeping an active eye on this.
I’m about to go back to a paid account on Twitter just so this doesn’t happen again and I am hoping that anyone who reads this post will become either well informed as a user of the interwoven stack or that change happens should I catch the eyes of the developers whose projects I love within the ecosystem.
I realize that a lot of this is on Twitter side… But it’s also on our side of the community as well.
I hope this post finds my community members well!
Thank you for your attention.
