Updating Embr VIP Criteria

We are proposing some simplifications to the Embr.fun VIP scoring process. We previously had a multiple number of conditions that were intended to bring diversity to actions people could do on Embr, but found that this led to myopic optimization and was less effective overall in rewarding our most valuable users. This new scoring maintains the allocation based criteria that we instantiated during epoch 2, but simplifies the criteria. To increase their VIP score — users can hold, create, trade memes and play COC. The new scoring will begin for Epoch 4.

Now

40% to Holders of Top 5 Tokens [Positions]

  • Top 5 tokens are top 5 tokens by market cap
  • This is scored for each holder as Sum S_i = D x T x M_i where D is dollar notional at buy, T is time held, and M is market cap at end of epoch, and i is over the top 5 tokens
  • This is weighted linearly by the above scoring for each user.

30% to Creators of Top 5 Tokens [Creators]

  • This is allocated to creators of the top 5 tokens by market cap determined at end of epoch. The top token will receive 10%, the second will receive 8%, the third will receive 6%, the fourth will receive 4%, the fifth will receive 2%.
  • Creators are not eligible for the above holder allocation on their own token (cannot double dip across the meme holder category for own token)

20% to [Trading]

  • This component of VIP is given linearly based on trading volume during the epoch.

10% to [COC]

  • This is allocated to participation in Chains of Chaos weighted by amount of collateral used. Here, participation continues to mean staking and playing Chains of Chaos through fully.

Previously

[Meme / Token Creation] - 40%

  • Creators earn VIP score based on the total volume traded for their tokens created during the current VIP epoch.

[Chains of Chaos] - 30%

  • Players are awarded VIP based on game participation and performance:
    • Collateral staked, relative to all collateral staked during the round - 15%
    • Participants who use pre-graduation memes as collateral - 10%
    • Your W/L record, skill component - 5%

[Accrued EMBR points during epoch] - 20%

  • This component of VIP is awarded linearly based on amount of EMBR points accrued during the epoch.

[EMBR Tier based VIP points] - 10%

  • Maintaining your capy tier unlocks our passive VIP yield
